David J. Parent Scholarship

The David J. Parent Scholarship is awarded annually each Spring.

Candidate qualifications:

• enrolled in good standing at Illinois State University
• undergraduate student demonstrating strong academic achievement as evidenced by a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
• currently majoring in a foreign language with students majoring in German to be given preference
• Need is an important consideration
• as much as can be perceived, love, commitment, and appreciation of a foreign culture should be observed in the student recipient

Nominations:

Applications are not sent in directly from the student. Instead, faculty in the Languages, Literatures, and Cultures Department nominate likely candidates.
